History

In 2011, the American Society of Pharmacometrics (ASoP) was founded. Within 6 months, over 600 members joined ASoP reflecting the vigorous growth of the pharmacometrics field. In 2012, ASoP evolved to the International Society of Pharmacometrics (ISoP) to reflect the increasing number of international members.

ISoP expanded its reach by establishing an affiliation with the Journal of Pharmacokinetics and Pharmacodynamics (JPKPD) in which there would be a themed ISoP issued annually and ISoP members could submit articles to the journal for consideration. In addition, ISoP is the proud sponsoring organization for the American Conference on Pharmacometrics (ACoP) and co-sponsors other International Conferences on Pharmacometrics such as the Population Approach Group of Australia & New Zealand (PAGANZ), International Symposium in Quantitative Pharmacology (ISQP) and the World Conference on Pharmacometrics (WCoP). ISoP’s worldwide reach continues to grow annually with a community of over 900 members from almost 18 countries around the world.

From ASoP to ISoP, the Society has been committed to moving pharmacometrics forward.
